Last Monday, February 23, we moved into the brand new, beautiful, amazingly wonderful LEADERSHIP LIBRARY! YAY!
I have emptied a bunch of boxes, and still have some more to unpack, but it already looks like a real library. I haven’t figured out how to organize everything yet, and I still need to enter all the titles into my Google doc/checkout spreadsheet, but we are well on our way to having a fully functioning library. Yippee!
I’ve had many magical moments, when students have stopped by to check things out. “Is this our new library?” they ask. They seem so pleased. They’ve never had a library in their high school before!
Thursday night, February 26, Leadership had an open house event, and lots of former students came to see how much their old school has changed. They seemed quite pleased with the library space (though concerned about the dearth of books on the shelves. Help us fill them!). Seeing their beautiful faces and how much they’ve grown and matured through the years reminds me how lucky I am to do what I do.
